Nigeria Navy Training Allowance 2025 (Updated)
The Nigerian Navy is one of the main parts of the Armed Forces of Nigeria, which is in charge of protecting the Nigerian territory through the sea. The Nigerian Navy is the highest-paid force in Nigeria in 2025.
The Nigerian Navy always recruits qualified candidates to join the force through their SSCE recruitment, their graduate program, or the Nigerian Defence Academy.
When you join the Nigerian Navy through any of the means mentioned above, you are entitled to be paid a training allowance by the Nigerian Navy. The Nigerian Navy training allowance is divided into categories. Those who joined the Navy through the Nigerian Defence Academy are said to be paid higher than those who joined as recruits.
Let me explain something here. Those who joined the Navy through the Nigerian Defence Academy are to spend a period of 5 years in the academy before they can become a full member of the Nigerian Navy, while those who are joining the Nigerian Navy as a graduate have to spend up to 9 months before they are commissioned into the Nigerian Navy.
For the recruits, their training lasts for a period of six months, and they are also entitled to this same training allowance. Though the Nigerian Navy recruits, also known as trainees, also joined the service using an SSCE certificate just like the Nigerian Defence Academy, the difference is that those who pass through the Nigerian Defence Academy are always superior to those that just obtained the Nigerian Navy Basic Military Training. Nigeria Navy Training Allowance
The Nigerian Navy training allowance for the Navy recruits under training is between ₦10,500 – ₦15,000 monthly. Please note that the Navy recruits are only entitled to this training allowance for the period of their training, as it will be automatically stopped once you graduate from training.
For the graduates, the Nigerian Navy training allowance is between ₦15,000 to ₦25,000.
For those who are in training at the Nigerian Defence Academy, the Nigerian Navy training allowance starts from about ₦25,000 and will likely reach up to ₦50,000 as they are promoted to the next level.
