There are many categories of recruitment in the Nigerian Police Force. There are categories for those with SSCE, there are categories for ND holders, and there is also a category for graduates.
The graduates are those who possess HND or BSC or its equivalent. In this post, we will only be discussing the ranks which are given to those that joined the Nigerian Police Force using a National Diploma, also known as ND.

National Diploma Rank in Police
The National Diploma rank in Police is Inspector of Police, also known as (ISP). Please note that the Inspector of Police is the starting rank of the National Diploma holders, as they will be promoted to the next rank after some years of service.
Please also note that Inspector of Police is different from Inspector General of Police (IGP).
Inspector of Police is a rank you possess after the rank of Sergeant. Those people who join the Nigeria Police with a National Diploma are given the rank of ISP, which automatically means that they have jumped the ranks of Constable, Corporal, and Sergeant, while the Inspector General of Police is the last rank of the commissioned officers and is only appointed by the President.
National Diploma Salary in Police
The National Diploma salary in Police is about ₦137,135.10. Please note that this is also the starting salary of the National Diploma holders in the Nigerian Police Force, as the salary will always increase as the years of service increase.
