Nigerian Police Short Service Recruitment Form/Portal 2025

The Nigerian Police has a program that is meant to take in graduates into the force. In the Nigerian Military, the Army, Navy, and Air Force, it is regarded as Short Service. Because of that, many people have been asking about the Nigerian Police Short Service. In this post, we will discuss the Police Short Service and how to apply. But before that, we would love to explain many things you may not know about the recruitment.

Firstly, the Nigerian Police does not have any recruitment called Short Service, it is called Cadet ASP program. Though it’s still the same thing as Short Service, it’s not regarded as Short Service in the Police Force. The Nigerian Police Cadet ASP program is the name of the recruitment which is meant for graduates who wish to join the Nigerian Police Force as a graduate. Nigerian police Short Service recruitment

In our previous post, we wrote about how to join the Nigerian Police as a graduate and that’s almost the same thing with this post. So now, before you can be able to apply for the Nigerian Police Short Service, you need to first of all meet their requirements. Below are the requirements for the Nigerian Police Short Service Recruitment.

Nigerian Police Short Service Requirements

  • All applicants must be Nigerian citizens by birth and possess a valid identification card.
  • Applicants must be between the ages of 20 and 30 years as of the time of applying.
  • Applicants must possess a minimum of 5 credits in their SSCE examinations (GCE, WAEC, NABTEB, NECO) in not more than 2 sittings, and must have credit in English and Mathematics.
  • Applicants must be physically, mentally, and medically fit.
  • You must not have any criminal record and must not have been convicted.
  • Applicants must not have less than 86cm expanded chest measurement (for males only).
  • Applicants that are female must not be pregnant.
  • Applicants’ height must not be less than 1.67m tall for males, and not less than 1.64m tall for females.
  • You must be a University or Polytechnic graduate and possess HND or B.Sc.

Once you meet all the requirements mentioned above, you are almost done with the recruitment. The next stage is to visit the Nigerian Police recruitment portal and apply.

For those who meet the requirements and wish to apply for this recruitment, you are to visit the recruitment portal: https://www.npf.gov.ng/
Once the portal opens, select ASP program as it is the same thing as the Police Short Service. Make sure you fill in all the required information correctly to avoid automatic disqualification.
